Gas Pipe Upgrade – Roadworks Newton Abbot

We have been informed of a gas pipe upgrade in and around the East Street area of Newton Abbot.  The work will start from 22nd July 2024 until approximately Winter 2025.   Diversion routes will be signposted, and motorists are advised to allow extra time for travel.  The following detail has been provided:

• Between 22^nd July and 9^th August – a road closure will be in place on Wolborough Street from Linden Terrace  to Pomeroy Road.
• Between 12^th August and 4^th October – rolling multi-way traffic lights will be in place on Wolborough Street from A382 to the junction of Steppes Meadow.
• From October onwards, a discretional closure will be in place on East Street, eastbound, allowing traffic to travel westbound from Penn Inn roundabout and Station Road.
