APPOINTMENT AVAILABILITY

We are currently experiencing unprecedented pressure on appointments due to long term and short term doctor sickness absence and pre-booked holiday absence of doctors and other clinical staff.

Locum doctors have been booked to cover absences where these were known about in advance, but it has not been possible to  find locums when faced with unexpected absences as they are already working elsewhere.

This means, as a consequence, we have had to cancel some clinics so that the GP can provide the urgent on the day service. We deeply regret this as we know that our current ability to rebook non-urgent appointments is several weeks into the future, which is not the service we wish to provide for our patients.

On a positive note, we have taken on Dr Nutt as a permanent member of our team, and we have recruited another advanced nurse practitioner to reinforce our urgent on the day service which should mean we can offer more non-urgent GP appointments.

We appreciate that patients needs change, and ask if you have an appointment that you no longer need, then please let us know, this will allow us to offer the time to another patient. You can do this online, by calling reception on 01626 334411 or by emailing us - enquiriesatalbany.L83034@nhs.net

Thank you.
